Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt
I did not remember what a beautiful story this was. I think it’s an interesting way to introduce the concept of death to young people / kids and a beautiful explanation of the circle of life.
One thing I will say is just that I’m so stuck on the idea that Jesse, at 104, asks Winnie, 10 years old, to wait JUST SEVEN YEARS til she turns 17 and then they’ll live out their lives together forever. That is an insane age gap for you to be interested in a 10 year old, and then to play it off like the seven years will really make such a difference when you in fact are far older than just a seven year age gap.
And then, too, the fact the man in the yellow suit is like “well a child will sell better anyway” 🤮🤮🤮
Overall I think a 4/5 - would be interested to see how the 2002 movie adaptation holds up in comparison.
